India Post has recently invited prescribed application form for the various posts of Gramin Dak Sevak in Various State/Circle. Computer Knowledge : All the candidates who have applied for the GDS, should know that the Merit List will comprise the quality of Computer Knowledge. The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. Certificates from Central Government/ state Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose.

Residence :The Candidate selected for the post of GDS BPM must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the branch post office village within one month after selection but before engagement as Graming Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. The Candidate shall submit a declaration to this effect  in the application.

Adequate Means of Livelihood : The Candidate applying for the post shall note that he/she will have adequate means of livelihood to support himself/herself family. However this shall not be a pre requisite for the candidates for the purpose. selected candidates shall be required to comply with this condition within 30 days after selection but before engagement.

Furnishing of Security : The Candidates applying for the post shall note that he/she shall furnish security amount of Rs. 25,000 in the event of his/her engagement for the post of BPM and rS. 10,000 for other categories.

Applicants must have attain Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together

  • Minimum age: 20 years
  • Maximum age: 26 years
Pay Band:
  • Applicants will get Rs.15, 600 – 39,100/- per month
  • Applicants will also receive Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, and Transport Allowance. In addition, other allowances are applicable based on nature of duty/ place of posting and would include Field Area Allowance, Special Compensatory (Hill area) Allowance, Searching Allowance, Island Special Duty Allowance, Area Allowance and Remote Locality Allowance
  • After successful completion of the training period, the monthly IAF Salary of the aspirant will approximately be Rs. 68,550/-

LASIK surgery for Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branch is as follows:
Post PRK/ LASIK applicants should meet the visual requirements required for the branch as laid down in Para 3.12.5.2 IAP 4303(4th edition).
The following criteria should be satisfied prior to selecting post-PRK/ LASIK at the time of Air Force Medical Examination.
PRK/LASIK surgery must not have been carried out before the age of 20 years.
The axial length of the eye should not be more than 25.5 mm as measured by IOL master.
At least 12 months should have elapsed post-uncomplicated stable PRK/LASIK with no history or evidence of any complication.
The post LASIK corneal thickness as measured by a corneal pachy meter should not less than 450 microns.
Individuals with high refractive errors (>6D) prior to LASIK are to be excluded.
Candidates having undergone cataract surgery with or without IOL implants will also be declared unfit.
