India Post GDS Selection Process 2017

India Post has recently invited prescribed application form for the various posts of Gramin Dak Sevak in Various State/Circle. Many Candidates have applied to be the GDS in their State or Circle of Choice. The Application was in Online mode. There were many vacancies in every state or circle. Computer Knowledge : All the candidates who have applied for the GDS, should know that the Merit List will comprise the quality of Computer Knowledge. The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. Certificates from Central Government/ state Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose.

Residence :The Candidate selected for the post of GDS BPM must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the branch post office village within one month after selection but before engagement as Graming Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. The Candidate shall submit a declaration to this effect  in the application.

Adequate Means of Livelihood : The Candidate applying for the post shall note that he/she will have adequate means of livelihood to support himself/herself family. However this shall not be a pre requisite for the candidates for the purpose. selected candidates shall be required to comply with this condition within 30 days after selection but before engagement.

Furnishing of Security : The Candidates applying for the post shall note that he/she shall furnish security amount of Rs. 25,000 in the event of his/her engagement for the post of BPM and rS. 10,000 for other categories.

UP Government is going to conduct a state level joint entrance exam 2017 for admission in UP colleges for B.Ed course. As every year an Entrance Exam is conducted for admission in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) by an University appointed by State Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria:-

NOTE : Graduation Final Year Appearing Candidates in 2017 are Not Eligible for B.Ed 2017 Entrance Exam.

FOR SC/ ST Candidates:- Candidate must have degree for Graduation and/ or Post Graduation OR Degree in Sciences/ Social Science/ Humanities, Graduation Degree in Engineering & Technology with specialization in Math & Science OR Any Degree Equivalent to the above mentioned qualifications.

FOR General/ OBC Candidates:- Candidate must have degree for Graduation and/ or Post Graduation OR Degree in Sciences/ Social Science/ Humanities with 50% Marks, Graduation Degree in Engineering & Technology with specialization in Math & Science with 55% Marks OR Any Degree Equivalent to the above mentioned qualifications.

NOTE:- Now B.Tech & BE Candidates can also apply for B.Ed Entrance Test. Those candidates need to have 55% Marks. Eligibility can be changed according to the government’s Rule.

Shortlisted Candidates of Online Written Exam will be called up for Stenography Test & Computer Skill Test. For MTS candidates selected in Written Exam will be called up for Document Verification. Candidates who are High in Merit will be selected Finally.

Stenography Test

Stenography test of Qualifying Nature for 10 minutes with a speed of 80 words per minute in English or Hindi and transcription of the same on computer for one hour.

Computer Skill Test

The candidates will have to appear for Computer Skill Test of Qualifying Nature either in English or in Hindi language as such they are advised to opt for the medium of examination carefully for Computer Skill Test in the application form. The Computer Skill Test shall comprise of following three parts:

Part A
Preparation of two Power Point Presentations/Slides on MS-Power Point-10 Marks.
Part B
Typing a letter/passage/paragraph of about 150-200 words in MS-Word-20 Marks.
Part C
Preparation of Table/Database in MS-Excel-20 Marks.

The total marks of the Computer Skill Test shall be 50 (fifty) with duration of 30 minutes for completing all the three parts. The candidates shall be given the text/matter in the Question Paper which they have to type/reproduce in the Answer Sheet including formatting of text and use of formulae etc. as per instruction given in the Question Paper.
